So you have taken the 11+ grammar school exams?… but now you need to get ready for second stage and independent school exams.
This means a new exam style. A new process, new timings, new things that your child needs to focus on. And not much time to focus on it.
Independent schools will often test from a much wider syllabus than selective state schools. Typically the exams are both longer and tougher, so it’s important to be prepared when thinking about taking the 11+. Although core topics are broadly similar, based on Key Stage 2, independent 11+ exams tend to have more in depth and taxing “worded problems” questions, especially towards the end of the examination. Questions that may also be used by the school to indicate which students could be potential scholarship candidates.
