How Much Do Lessons Cost?

Rates vary depending on the level of tuition you want, location, the specialism of the subject and if you are looking for group or 1:1 tuition. There are a lot of options! Our location managers are the best people to speak to, as they can suggest what will best suit your child. Book a call with us today.

Our groups tend to cost £15-20 per session. Our holiday courses are £250 for 10 hours of tuition. Bespoke tuition ranges from £45-80 dependent on your needs.

If you have any queries about pricing, email our team at: info@educationhotel.co.uk

How Will I Be Billed?

The Education Hotel uses an online platform called TutorCruncher to bill clients. Clients can input their card details into their TutorCruncher profile to receive invoices and be charged.

We send invoices to clients at the end of every month, and we charge 5 days later.

What is TutorCruncher?

TutorCruncher is our online platform for connecting clients with the right tutors. Once you have decided you would like to use our services, The Education Hotel creates a ‘Job’ on TutorCruncher that tutors can apply for. Once tutors have applied, our location managers hand-select the tutor who is the best fit for your child based on what you told us in your initial consultation call.

Once you receive tuition with us, you can log on to TutorCruncher to view regular lesson reports from your tutor to track your child’s progress. See how to use Tutorcruncher below.

When Do Lessons Take Place?

We have a range of services to suit your availability, from online tuition, group courses, home education programmes and residential overseas tuition. The majority of our 1:1 lessons take place after school or during weekends.

Can My Tutor Come To My House?

This is location-dependent, but our tutors do teach in person if we have someone nearby. Travel expenses will be added to the cost of this service. Visit our In-Person Tuition page to find out more. We also offer bespoke Residential Tuition (please email info@educationhotel.co.uk for details).

What Do I Do If My Family is Based Outside The UK?

We have many international clients worldwide who use our popular Online Tuition Services. We also offer bespoke Residential Tuition (please email info@educationhotel.co.uk for details).

What Happens If I Don’t Like My Tutor?

It happens rarely, but sometimes a tutor might not be the right fit for your family. If this is the case, we will endeavour to find you a new tutor as soon as possible.

Online Vs in-person – What Are The Benefits?

Online Tuition has the benefit of flexibility in the modern day. It can be taught anywhere – all you need is a laptop or tablet, and you’re ready to go. Tutors can send resources to students using an online whiteboard that can be saved and brought up again for easy revision. This service is our most popular!

In-Person Tuition allows tutors to engage students with science experiments, board games and physical activity. They can present knowledge differently than in the classroom. Our students love seeing their tutors each week and often ask to see them more than once. However, this service is location-dependent.

1:1 Vs Group Programmes – What Are The Benefits?

Group programmes – run weekly during term time or daily during the holidays. Groups offer a way to work with other students, offering shared accountability and moral support from other students. Group tuition helps students gain confidence and encourages healthy competition between students, assisting them in pushing themselves further. Group tuition can also offer less pressure on a student, who can learn from the other students in the class.

1:1 tuition – can be delivered at your chosen time and focuses only on your child. 1:1 tuition allows lessons to be personalised to your child’s interests. Your tutor is a mentor, coach and teacher.

What Qualifications Will My Tutor Have?

All our tutors come from the highest academic backgrounds, specialising in a full array of subjects at all levels. Prospective tutors are carefully screened, DBS checked and interviewed by our Director before becoming a tutor. We work with a small network of highly trusted tutors, only actively seeking out new employees when our clients have specific needs.

Visit our Meet The Tutors page to see just a handful of our popular tutors and their qualifications.

Clients can also see tutors’ qualifications on our online platform, TutorCruncher.

How Long Does It Take To Find a Tutor?

Depending on the specialism of the subject, this timescale can vary. However, for most core subjects, we aim to have several suitable tutors to offer clients within a week.

Which Subjects Do You Offer? Can My Child Learn Music, Art or Pottery?

Here, at The Education Hotel, we focus on core academic subjects and hire tutors accordingly. However, if you’d like to explore other avenues, we have a wide range of connections to find the right tutor for the job.

Group/Siblings Lessons: Where Can I Find Out More?

Can I Cancel a Lesson?

Yes, you can cancel lessons, but you must give 48 hours’ notice to the tutor; otherwise, under our Terms & Conditions, you will be charged.

Profile Overview

When you first log into TutorCruncher, the first thing you will be able to see is your client profile and dashboard. This is where you will get a great overview of your account.

If you want to edit your account and change any details, you can click the top right-hand corner drop-down menu and select ‘Account’. Here, you can view all your details and edit any details about your profile, address and any additional fields.

Where Can I View The Students Associated With My Profile?

If you would like to view the students attached to your profile, you can view these by going to the ‘Student’ tab in the left-hand menu. If you would like to add additional students, please get in touch with your tutoring agency.

What Is The Calendar?

In the ‘Calendar’ tab, you can view your upcoming lessons. You can click on each of these appointments to get more information about each calendar entry. You can view a variety of information, such as the tutor holding the lesson, which of your students is involved in it and when/where the lesson will be.

Where Can I View Lesson Reports?

Navigate to the ‘Reports’ section of the left-hand menu. Within this section, you can view all of the reports associated with each of your students.

Understanding Accounting

The TutorCruncher system works based on two key payment methods: credit requests, which facilitate upfront payment, and invoices, which are for payments made after a lesson has already happened. You can find both Invoice and Credit Requests in the left-hand menu of your TutorCruncher account. Here you can view details about historical and outstanding invoices and pay them using the TutorCruncher payment gateways.

Clients are invoiced at the end of each month and are charged 5 days later using the client’s card details stored on Tutorcruncher. For example, a client invoiced on 31st May will be charged on 5th June.

Inside The Billing Tab (left-hand side):

Within the billing tab, clients can see everything to do with billing, charges and invoices.

  • Balance History:

Your balance history gives you the details about all the past transactions on your account, meaning you can always keep track of your finances within TutorCruncher.

  • Invoices:

In this section, you can see any invoices you need to pay. You can click on the invoice to view the bill and to pay.

  • Credit Requests:

This section works in a very similar way to Unpaid Invoices. The main difference is that here you can see any outstanding upfront payments. Again, you can click on any of these items to view their details and pay.

Changing My Payment Method

You can change the card you use for payment by clicking the ‘Dashboard’ button on the left-hand side and then clicking ‘Add New Card’. You can also remove existing cards by clicking on them and pressing the ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove’ button.

Updating My Contact Information

You can update your contact information by clicking the ‘Dashboard’ button on the left-hand side and then finding the ‘Edit’ button underneath your profile picture.
