Weekend masterclasses
Creative Writing Masterclass — 4th April
Planning and generating ideas quickly
9–11am | £50
One of the biggest issues we see is that students rush into writing without really planning. They often do not realise that the planning stage is actually one of the most important parts of creative writing. A strong plan helps children stay relevant to the question, structure their ideas well, and avoid running out of steam halfway through. In this session, we will focus on how to come up with ideas quickly and shape them into something strong enough for 11+ style tasks.
Weekend masterclasses
Creative Writing Masterclass — 5th April
Adding detail with emotions, show not tell and character description
9–11am | £50
This is often one of the easiest ways for children to lift their marks. Many students can write a basic story, but what makes the difference is the detail: how they build character, how they show emotion rather than simply stating it, and how they make their writing more vivid and engaging for the reader. This class will help students make that step.
These sessions work particularly well for children who already have some understanding of creative writing, but now need help turning that into stronger exam technique and more impressive written responses.
